About Us
Since the 2007 season, we have moved our entire operation to our 97-acre “lot”. We are located at 63 Shoreview Rd, just off of Pigeon Lake Rd. (15 min east of Lindsay, and 10 minutes south of Bobcaygeon.)
We have owned this property since 2000, and the gardens are constantly expanding and changing.
We currently have several acres of gardens that include mostly full sun – low maintenance mixed beds, a shade garden that is the start of a 2 acre woodland garden, several large, well drained, raised beds containing mostly sempervivums, jovibarbas and other drought tolerant plants as well as a large sand bed containing cacti and yuccas.
We have a pond in the shaded area which is a naturally occurring water spot with frogs, turtles and other water-loving creatures.
There are lots of walkways and paths throughout the property and we encourage you to explore the many nooks and crannies.
You are even welcome to bring a picnic and sit in the grassy areas and have your lunch if you want.
About Anna
Anna is originally from Poland, and came to Canada in 1989. In Poland she spent 2 years at Horticultural College, and worked at the local Farmers Co-op. In her spare time she worked in local orchards, and grew and sold some of her own plants.
After moving to her “cottage” from the Toronto area with her new husband in 1994, her gardens were growing, and after two years, she started selling a few plants and seedlings out of that location .. thus Anna’s Perennials was started.
Anna’s European background, and formal schooling at College gives her a different perspective towards her style of planting, and incorporating many of the plants that are not popular here, but are in other parts of the world.
Anna is a mad gardener as she is always looking for a new plant, collecting seeds and trying to grow plants that others say aren’t possible in our area.
Since 2003 Anna’s Perennials has been a vendor at the Peterborough “For the Love of Gardening” show.
For several years, Anna has been giving talks/demonstrations to various horticultural groups in the area on many different topics, such as ‘winter hardy cactus and other succulents,’ ‘perennial grasses’, my favorite plants’ .
For information on booking Anna for your group, please contact us by telephone or email.
Please note that all the plants listed are subject to availability. Please call before visiting if you are looking for a particular plant, as we can’t guarantee that it won’t be sold out.
